If you couldn't tell, I like hiking. That's why for my birthday this year I decided to hike Mt. Pilchuck. I had 2 thoughts with this hike, the first and primary was bringing a full birthday cake to the top, just because it would be fun and make for some good pictures. Second, was bringing a suit to a summit, which was weather dependent and happened to line up for this hike.
Carrying the cake up to the top was quite an interesting task, different from all of the previous hikes. I had it in an insulated bag and had to make sure it stayed pretty level, even when scrambling over rocks. I also carried the suit with, to change into at the top, as I was not hiking up in that.
This trail was steeper than I had expected, and rockier than I expected. Over half of the trail was on rocks and exposed areas, which surprised me more than it really should have.
Got to the top, ate lunch, messed around with a drone I got, and took some pictures of the cake before getting changed. After gett
ing suited we went up to the lookout and took a bunch of pictures, which I think turned out pretty well.
We also saw another Pika on the way up, and this time I got some much better pictures of him.
Overall everything went just about according to plan, it was very fun and I got some good pictures from it too.
