Written on October 18, 2026. Covers my hike to Mt. Dickerman.
Mt. Dickerman is a really cool hike, and it didn't even feel like it took all that long. Granted it is only around 8 miles, but it has respectable elevation gain and a bunch to explore at the top, which extended our hike to around 11 miles.

The majority of the trail is forested with occasional peaks out into the valley where you can see Big Four mountain, Vesper peak, and Del Campo. There was a lot of wildlife on this hike compared to previous hikes that I've done, which was very welcome.

Eventually the trail opens up, and brings you to the "peak" which is more of a ridge along a shear cliff. It's an amazing spot, a ~700ft shear drop. We hung out and explored up here for around 3 hours, wandering all over the peak area. At one point we took an unmaintained trail down to a lower and older trail, which gave some cool views of the clifface.

Overall it was a pretty relaxed and nice hike, wish the weather was a little clearer but that just gives reason to go back to this great spot in the future. It looks great in the snow.
