Lake Serene

Written on October 18, 2026. Covers my hike to Lake Serene.

It's been a couple of months since the last hike that I did, as school, work, and weather have caused some scheduling issues. But we decided that it was time for another hike and I have just recently gotten my new camera, so we tried to pick somewhere that would look nice. We ended up deciding on Lake Serene and Bridal Veil Falls, as it's a moderate hike with 2 good sights. The only issue is that in the days before the hike, the forecast got rainer and wetter. We made the very smart decision to go anyways, assuming that the rain would bot be as bad in to woods/on this side of the mountains.

Turns out, when the forecast says 2 inches of rain, it does actually mean 2 inches of rain. We were soaked by the time we got to the falls, and even more so as we reached the lake. Eventually our shoes got so waterlogged that we decided to just walk through the puddles and ponds instead of around them, as it also got dark quite early.

It was one of my favorite hikes however, the falls were running so fast, and the snow up top was very nice. I sadly didn't get any pictures with my camera, as I wasn't comfortable taking it out of its back as it was so wet,

I definitely need to come back here at some point when it's less wet and cold to get some better pictures, but it was still fun.
